{Tawny's Funky friday}

Hey ladies...and maybe some gents! Happy Friday! Hope you guys are enjoying the oh-so-beautiful weather...or at least get to at sometime this weekend! Lets kick it off with some finds from Etsy! I posted on Phot Tuesday a picture of Tawny and Jeremy and their oh-so-crafty "Bride and Groom" Burlap Banners! Tawny had a field day on Etsy and her wedding so so incredibly adorable and fun! So this week's FuNkY FrIdAy is totally inspired by Tawny and her spectacular finds!!

Bride and Groom Banner

Rustic Wood Place Card Holders

Tawny had a cute idea since her wedding was at the end of September and in the middle of the day (we know how crazy unpredictable our weather is here in East TN so sweating was a possibility). She gave her guests folding fans and really cute hankerchiefs so they stay comfortable while she and Jeremy said their "I Do's"! A great thing to do for your guests so they can enjoy the ceremony as much as you!!

  Love Bird Folding Fans

  Custom Printed Hankies

There is SO much more I wish I could post...but I want to save them for later!! Make sure you check back next week for more FuNkY FrIdAy finds and what's going on with me and Phot!! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

{a bun in the oven and an etsy "i do"}

Hey peepers!!! Phot and I wanted to drop in and show you some goodies!!!

Probably my FaVoRiTe picture in quite a while!!! This one makes my toes dance, my belly flutter, my nose crinkle and my heart race!! I am in love with it as much as I know Angela and Will are with their little tater tot!

AND to probably the most handy-dandy bride I have had all season!!! I kept asking her "Tawny, where did you get this?" and the reply was almost always, "Etsy!!" So guess what?!? Check back on Friday for a couple of finds that Tawny had from her big wedding day! Aren't those flags awesome?! Oh and The Love Angel Wedding Cake Toppers from 2 Fridays back...totally Tawny!

 Happy Phot Tuesday!!

{lauren and dane}

Happy Crazy-East-Tennessee-Thunderstorm-Monday morning to everyone!!! The torrential downpour held off long enough for us to have a beautiful Saturday filled with a beautiful wedding! But that will come later! I have been dying to show you all Lauren and Dane’s big day!!! I absolutely love it when I get to shoot at someone’s home! It makes the pictures mean so much more…at least to me, when I know that they can look back one day and know that a place so familiar and comforting played such a big role in making their day so special! Lauren’s parents loving gave up their home one beautiful September Saturday morning for quite a few people to run around in! Here are just a few of some of my favorite moments!

Their first see was so cute and incredibly sweet! Lauren started bawling just before she saw Dane. But once they saw each other, it was all smiles from there on!

Beautiful stone porch, beyond awesome weeping willow, and two people who are insanely in love…of course I got the perfect shots!!

Gotta love those Groomsmen!!

Lauren and Dane’s priest was by far my favorite of the year!! He was so exuberant and vivacious and his love was contagious!!! He had the entire congregation cracking up at his stories and and jokes! Definitely a great way to start off a life together!

Adore his face here... just as they are about to kiss...

A little through-the-viewfinder action at the church... shot with a Brownie Hawkeye and my D700.

On to the party!!! Lauren and Dane…they know how to dance, well, maybe!

 Who says I can't have a little bit of fun?!

These next three series are some of the best!

Lauren’s brother treated the bride and groom (and the rest of the guests) with a beautiful and also hilarious song. Lets just say there wasn’t a dry eye in the place!

Perhaps..the funniest bouquet face catch EVER!

And even though I am a huge Vol fan, I have to give it to Dane. Being one of a few Gator fans in a room full of Volunteers takes some guts…and getting them to eat Gator cake…even more!

Lauren and Dane…you made my day by asking me to be there for your big one! Congratulations! Ya'll are super dang lucky to have each other!!

Check back tomorrow! I can't wait for you guys to see what I'm working on!

{funky friday for bridesmaids}

Happy Friday morning everyone!!! This has definitely been a week that calls for a big ol' TGIF!!! Talk about craziness! However, Fridays always bring happiness and fun fun fun finds from Etsy!!! This week, I thought we should focus on that gaggle of gals that we have with us on our BIG day! It always amazes me how much bridesmaids help out and all the things they bend over backwards to make the bride's day go as smoothly as possible! I believe they deserve a special little something!!

How super cute are these for the big day? I think they are just too adorable for your bridesmaids to sport around!

Cutting the Cake Bobby Pins

  Pocket Mirrors

These are one of the best present I have seen in a while!! Most gifts you can only use for the day of the wedding...but these makeup brush holders are perfect for traveling! I just might have to put in an order today!! And they come in a pack of 5...perfect for those wedding parties!

Makeup Brush Rolls

I hope you guys have a fantastic weekend and enjoy the beautiful weather that is supposed to show up! Awesome weather makes me happy...especially when there's a wedding! Cheers!

{holly and michael}

Happy Manic WEEK everyone!! So much has been going on this week (I feel like I say that every week, buts its true) and I didn't want you guys to go a week without a wedding post. I guess thats the good thing about this blog being mine...I get to make all the decisions!! hehe! So here is a wedding I had at the World’s Fair Park and Amphitheatre. Holly and Michael chose not to do a first see, but Holly got a goofy little sneak peak from Michael!!

Holly was absolutely stunning! (Can we say Hillary Swank?) Holly had the cutest (and smartest) dress I have seen! Once she started boogeying, the bottom came off and she had a super sexy little white number! But we’re not there just yet, here are some beauty shots of the bride!

Being downtown offers so many interesting places to take pictures! Holly and her bridesmaid’s didn’t mind walking around to find the perfect spots! The fellas didn’t mind wandering around as well!

Holly and Michael chose not to see eachother before the ceremony, so here is the absolute cutest picture of Holly seeing Michael for the first (or second) time!

After the ceremony we were able to run away for just a bit and take some super fun and lovely shots of the bride and groom.

Holly was a former UT dancer so when Rocky Top came on, you couldn’t expect anything other from a beautiful group of dancing Volunteers!

Now, here is the funniest/uh-oh cake smash EVER!!! They look so sweet and innocent and then WHAM…Michael surprised everyone!

That looks like a pretty good note to end this post on! Holly and Michael, your day was absolutely magical and I couldn't be happier that I was there to be apart of it and capture these moments!!! Congratulations!

Check back on Friday for some FuNkY finds from Etsy!!!

{Phot Esession}

Hey everyone! Happy Phot Tuesday! This week I have just a little something of a sneak peak. But trust me, it's well worth it! Don't they say the best things come in the smallest packages?! Teehee!!

One of my favorite series ever...introducing Taylor and Joey!!!

Tomorrow you get a big wedding day...because I messed up earlier this week! All these changes are leaving my brain scattered! So I'm going to make it up to you!

Check back tomorrow everyone!!

{welcome funky friday}

So, I have decided to make a switcharoo on the old bloggy! Instead of Frugal Fridays, I've decided to send in a sub - meet FuNkY Fridays!!!! Etsy has some of the best wedding finds out there (some frugal, and some not so much) so from now on I am going to post finds for every bride's budget, no matter what it may be!! Whoo hoo!!!

So this week's theme is going to be "All About the Cake"! Yum, yum, yum, yum, yum!!! Seriously, what wedding is complete without cake...or cupcakes as the new trend is! I found some of the cutest cake toppers and cake stands out there and want to share! So make sure you have a napkin near by because your mouth might start to water thinking about all the goodies!

  Autumn Perfect Cake Toppers

Perfect Pair Cake Toppers

Love Angel Wedding Cake Toppers

Are those not some of the cutest cake toppers you've seen? One of my beautiful brides found the Love Angels and had them custom made for her and her Marine! Absolutely beautiful!

Next up, cake stands. Some are funky, rustic and just beautiful!

Chalkboard Dessert Pedestal

Tree Slice Cake Stand

 And for something a little more traditional and va-va-voom...

Laurel Wedding Cake Stand

I had WAY too much fun with this post...next week might be a little toned down...or not! Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

{To be engaged or to be married?}

Happy Phot Tuesday morning everyone!!!

I wanted to treat you guys to a little sneak peak of not only an engagement session I am working on (and can't wait to share because it is so awesome) but also a wedding that I can't wait for you to see!!!

So first up to bat is Chelsea and Will!! How stinking cute are they?!?! I loved loved loved the bike...I think I might need to go get one now!

 Next is Sarabeth and Justin! These two lovebirds were married at a beautiful church in Maryville and as you can see from the two smiles plastered on those faces it was a pretty magical day!!! Smiles for miles! :)

{Kara and Nick

Ok, so since I am now spending so much time on here :) I have decided to make a little change...you get the BIG wedding post earlier in the week!! Manic Monday is perfect for the craziness that is a wedding! Teehee!! So let's to it!

Kara and Nick set the date back in June (I know, I know, I am super late) out at Butterfly Gap! There are so many areas at Butterfly Gap that just ooze perfect pictures! So let's start off with some Kara!

Gotta love a girl in a white dress and a Rolls-Royce!

Nick was not that chattiest of fellas that morning, however, when he saw Kara he opened up and we began to have quite a bit of fun!

LOVE this next moment...when I was changing lenses, Kara and Nick thought they could sneak a little dancing in without us knowing...these are the moments that make everything I do worth it!

So blue wall...or green wall...how about both?!

Now that is one happy priest! Love his expression!!

And what wedding isn't complete without some of the funniest and cutest kiddos out there?

Kara and Nick, I had an amazing blast capturing your day...as I know you guests did as well!! Thank you guys so much!

{Frugal friday ---or saturday}

I was honestly on a roll this week, and believe it or not, yesterday wasn't an acception. I completely finshed this awesome post (and had fun perusing Etsy as I did) but in all the hustle and bustle that is my life I totally forgot to hit "Post"!! Haha! So here you go, a day late!

Lovely brides, while getting ready for your BIG day, lets not forget about a super special someone that will be sharing it right there with you...your GROOM!!! (Not that any of you would of course!) Yes, we want the perfect veil (and dress), the perfect jewelry, the perfect decorations, but lets pamper our groom-to-be as well! I found a couple of fun little things that will make him be included in on all the fun stuff!

Here's some cufflinks that are a little bit less traditional!

Wood Cuff Links Beer Bottle Cap Cufflinks Love Abbreviation Cufflinks

 Another fun idea is this:

Matching Groom Tie and Ring Bearer Pillow (Of course I had to choose the orange polka dots...where do we live?!)

And lastly a little bit of joking around with the groom!!

Cold Feet Socks

 Now I'm out the door for a beautiful wedding at the Knoxville Convention Center!!

{rachel and david}

So, apparently the 3rd weekend in July (next year it happens to be July 16th) has had super fabulous weather for the last 2 years in a row…oh great, I probably just jinxed it! Anyhoo, the weather and sky were absolutely perfect for Rachel and David’s wedding while we trekked around Hunter Valley Farms. Some of you may remember this lovely site solely from the crazy horse that graced us with his presence earlier in the season! Well, he was back, but decided not to be the center of attention this time around.

But lets return to the real reason for the day! Rachel was beyond a doubt incredibly gorgeous! I shot her bridal session out at the Knoxville Botanical Gardens and just this little preview made me so excited for her big day!! Of course, she didn’t disappoint!

And, David didn’t look to shabby himself!

(Love that face!!)

Hunter Valley has some incredible areas to take pictures; with everything from a barn and fields to a dock and beach, there is surely something that will fit your fancy. One of my favorite areas is the dock! However, I definitely had my job cut out for me with fitting this bridal party on the dock.

Success!!!

I know I have said it before, but it is beautiful to see how much love there is for the brides I get to photograph! Rachel was by far no exception. Her bridal room was packed with loved ones wishing her love and happiness and prayers.

And of course...who has a ceremony without an awesome reception to follow?

Now, let’s end this one on a silly note; because, that’s just how I like it!! Rachel, we said kiss David...not the horse!!

Thank you so much Rachel and David for giving me laughs and allowing me to experience this most beautiful day with you!!

Check back tomorrow for some incredible Etsy finds!!

{Phot out at Twin Cedar Farms}

Oh Phot...how I have missed you!! I love letting you guys in on my editing world...b/c let's be honest...it's a BIG part of my world!! Here are a couple of shots that I'm editing with the gorgeous Gresha!! She and Brad were hitched out at Twin Cedar Farms.

Blue skies - check

Crazy awesome tree - check

Luscious wild grass - check

I can't wait for you guys to see more. But as they say, patience is a virtue!!

{It's Just Another Manic Monday}

Wait...October what?!? Can you believe it's already October 4th? It feels like the wedding season just started!!! That's not to say I haven't been busy, busy, busy (as you can see from the lack of blog posts ;P) but that is all to change! Let's start off this week right with a snip-it from a summer wedding!! Anissa and David were married at the Flatwater Grill in Oak Ridge where some fantastic fog was captured! But for now, here's a little taste of that beautiful East Tennessee sunset that we all love so much!

Check back tomorrow on Phot Tuesday with some more sneak peaks!!!

{a personal way to say 'thank you!'}

Well, today is Frugal Friday, and you know what that means-- it's time for some awesome finds from etsy.com! I've found some cool items that will really help you personalize your wedding (and the thank you cards afterwards).  I've had some couple do some awesome homemade signs, but I also LOVE these from etsy.

Seeing as we're mostly concerned with getting great pictures during the wedding, these items seem like they could really make for some awesome shots. It's a great way to tell people that you're married, or a really cool way to say 'thank you' to everyone who came to the ceremony. These signs will add a little personal touch to the (sometimes) boring thank you cards that people generally send. There's two different styes below:

So cute, right?

There are many styles to fit your wedding theme.

Hope you're having a wonderful Friday! Here's to a great weekend!

{sarah & jason}

Holy Moly what a summer!  I've been the worlds biggest blog slacker.  It becomes my very last priority to blog when I have such amazingly patient clients waiting on their pics.

But, hopefully, this delightfulness that you are about to see will totally make up for it.  Hold onto your hats, this is gonna be one long post.  Sarah and Jason rocked my world!!  First... meet Sarah...  I fell in love with this girl from the first time we met.  She is NOT your typical bride.  I'm going to start by introducing Sarah through a series of pics from the rehearsal dinner (which very quickly turned into a bit of a 'sarah-roast')  Though, also chock full of love and the sweetest stories ever.  Sarah's faces here CRACK ME UP!!  While I was taking these, the Matron of Honor is talking and telling all of Sarah's secrets.

I love not only the hilarious faces Sarah makes, but I also love the way Jason looks at her.  Oh my they are too cute for words... so... I won't even try from here on out... just gonna let the pictures tell the rest of the story... no matter how kooky and fun and lovely it may be...

Kiddos crack me up...

I love playing sometimes with traditional vs. modern... taking the exact same structure, the exact same lens and just by moving myself and the bride and groom a little I can get two totally different "feels" like in these next two pictures...

GOTTA love a boy in suspenders.  ;)

I LOVE this!!!  I had exactly FIVE minutes (in photographer talk that is NOT MUCH AT ALL!!!) to shoot the entire wedding party after the ceremony, and I love the idea of sequences... (especially when it comes to album design)... so I love the way this turned out.

We snuck away for a few fun lighting shots...

I wanna end with this super sweet picture of Sarah and her mom watching Jason dance with his mom.  As much silliness and fun that EVERYONE had at this wedding, at the end of the day, it was also very emotional and chock full of people with huge hearts and lots of love.

{a cool find from etsy!}

Happy Friday to everyone! I don't know about you, but I'm glad it's almost time for the weekend. Every Friday (for Frugal Friday) I try to find something cool while browsing etsy, and I especially like today's item.

In addition to having the traditional guest book for the wedding ceremony, this seems like a really fun idea to remember who came to the reception afterwards. It's a concert-style poster that has all your wedding details on it, and reception guests can sign the inlay. That way, after it's all said and done, you have something cool to put in your new house-- so you won't forget how great your wedding reception was, and who was there to party with you!

I couldn't pick my favorite style, so I decided to post them both!

Click here to see the etsy page.

So awesome, right? I love a good concert poster, and I would love to have this hanging in my house!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

{wedding & e-session sneak peek!}

Happy Tuesday to everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful week thus far.

There are two couples that are featured for this Phot Tuesday, and both sets look sooo great! The first pictures are from a recent wedding, and the second set are from an e-session. Check 'em out!

And here's to a wonderful rest of the week :)

{frugal friday!}

So today is Friday (hooray!), and that means it's time to post some awesome finds from etsy! There's always so much new stuff to look at while browsing the "wedding" section, and it's generally hard to narrow it down to one post's worth of stuff... but I managed. Ha.

This week features a little inspiration for your head: some great alternatives to the traditional veil. There are three different options posted below, and each one caters to a different wedding style.

For a vintage inspired look, the Bandeau Style Birdcage Veil:

For a little more modern look, a rhinestone headband with no veil:

And the last style is a little more traditional:

Which of these styles is your favorite?

Oh, and Happy Friday to you!

"just another manic Monday..."

Happy Monday to everyone! I don't know if Monday is usually considered a day to be happy about, but I'm trying to start this week off on a positive note. :) I love Mondays (here at JenAndPhot, anyway) beacuse I get to scroll through old pictures and pick my favorite.

There are some pictures that make you just stop scrolling, and think (or say) "awwe." This is definitely one of them! Check out Lauren and John-- married in March 2009 in South Knoxville. Talk about a picture that shows their personalities!

Any bride and groom wearing chucks on their big day gets two thumbs up from me!

it's phot tuesday!

Now that Joanna and Bryan are hitched, I can finally share a few of her bridal portraits, as well as a couple teaser shots from the wedding at St. George's (which has an AMAZING sanctuary)....  The awesome shot of the ceremony was actually taken by my Assistant, Kayla.  LOVE it.

Check out these super fantastic shots! And happy Tuesday to everyone :)
